What Is Radiation?

Radiation can be described as energy or particles from a source that travels through space or other mediums. Light, heat, and the microwaves and radio waves used for wireless communications are all forms of radiation. 
“Basically the energy emitted from a source of energy, is called Radiation ”

That ain't that hard is it?

What are the types of Radiation?  

There are mainly two types of radiation:-

• Non-Ionizing Radiations 
• Ionizing Radiations 

Non-Ionizing Radiation  

This is the normal source of radiation, people use this radiation for their work and we are exposed to this type of radiation in our everyday lives, this type of radiation doesn’t carry enough energy to ionize atoms or molecules so, they do not harm our body much. Pheww!! No danger man.


Some examples that produce Non-Ionizing energy- 

                                         
• FM and AM radio                             
• Television stations 
• Ovens
• Cellular telephones 
• Chordless mobile phones
• etc.

 Harmful Effects Of Non-Ionizing Radiation

It doesn’t affect Humans too much but may damage their skin and eyes but it depends on the time of energy exposure. It also increases health-related issues. Especially stress.
Effects of Non-Ionizing Radiation on animals- It doesn’t affect animals much but due to the adaptive nature of animals this type of radiation may generate some amount of stress and which may cause undetectable DNA damage or change.

Let’s now talk about the harmful effects on birds and animals-

Non-ionizing radiation is much more harmful for animals especially birds. Many species of birds become endangered species like, sparrows. 

“You people must have noticed  that nowadays, sparrows have become rare to observe especially in cities but in villages, they might be seen.”This is due to increasing “Electromagnetic Radiation  (EMR)” and some other non-ionizing radiations. These EMRs affect the brain of birds especially on their navigation systems due to this the birds forget their path and feel insane pain and then they die. 
Trust me, it pains like hell and if you don't believe me you can ask any sparrow.

Ionizing Radiation

Ionizing radiation is a type of radiation which has enough energy to remove electrons from atom and molecules of materials  

They can penetrate easily in any substance whether its a living organism or a
 non-living organism like, X-rays which penetrate in our body and we can see
 our bones.

Type of Ionizing Radiation-

Alpha radiation (associated  with nuclear radiation alpha, beta, gamma   )

• Beta radiation
• Gamma radiation 
• Neutron radiation 
• X-rays radiation

Harmful effects of Ionizing Radiation-

This Radiation is much more harmful than Non-Ionizing radiation.

• The Ionizing radiation cause- 

 This causes radiation burns, cell damage, radiation sickness, cancer, and even death.

 Ionizing Radiation is the most dangerous radiation in the world.

So, the first question is 

What is a Mutant? 

Any living organism whose DNA got changed due to any reason whether due to radiation or by evolution, these organisms are mutants (i.e. we are mutant for our ancestors because there are many genetic difference between our body and their body)

Will radioactivity make you a Mutant?

Well, every living body whose DNA is changed from previous versions of it is called a MUTANT whether the organism lives after this immediate change or die(after death through radiation ).

Generally, these sudden changes in DNA occur due to Radiations because it brings a change in the DNA of the organism but it depends on the organism whether he can tolerate the radiation or not if any organism could tolerate this radiation then there is also very less chance that he or she could get superpowers. 

"It could also bring negative changes instead of positive effects like superpowers. "

It could also bring some negative effects on your body "

The probability or chances of negative effect is more.

biggest example is japan (i.e. nuclear war )
